Voiceclub is drawing together seekers of wisdom, meaning, and purpose. It’s a podcast, YouTube channel, events platform, and culture-making project, for those awake enough to recognise i) the importance of individual sovereignty and collective responsibility, and ii) the necessary, intriguing, challenging task of sensemaking in the modern world.
Video Editor / Content Producer
What we’re looking for.
Video editor / content creator / somewhat awake, creative, intelligent human being who communicates forthrightly and puts forward ideas they are willing to execute.
A university student, or someone with the time and interest in a similar mindset, interested in wisdom and meaning, with a knowledge of YouTube, podcasts, video editing, an eye for the zeitgeist, and a moral compass.
Unpaid. But there will be an exchange of value. In return for your work, creativity, and autonomous identification of further ways you can provide value to the task of growing Voiceclub, I will provide (for the right candidate only, and if you so desire):
Insight into the world of entrepreneurship, philosophy, flow, psychedelics, and sense-making.
Free admission to all Voiceclub events for the time we work together.
Potential opportunities to meet exceptional people.
The opportunity to co-create and participate in a tribe of sovereign individuals grounded by a commitment to the loving growth of self and society.
A reference to sell you well when the time comes.
I will assist you otherwise with challenges you face to some appropriate degree. It may not be appropriate.
I will continue to consider ways I can open doors for you as appropriate.
Someone to make yourself accountable to if your goal is to develop and live a life of meaning, purpose, exploration, and love and respect for yourself, others, and the world.
Someone to make yourself accountable to if you’re trying to reduce your propensity to engage in self-destructive and self-deluded patterns of thought and behaviour.
Let me stress that I’m interested in autonomy and entrepreneurial mindedness. To that extent, there is large scope for what I can envisage your work to be.
However. One thing I am principally interested in is the willingness and interest to watch, think deeply, and feel creatively on the content I have created / am creating. I want you to identify coherent threads explored across episodes and within episodes, and to suggest and create montages of clips, and shorter clips, to be shared on the YouTube channel and across social media.
Potential topics include collective sense-making, emergent sense-making communities, flow, meaning, purpose, growth, love, spirituality, consciousness, authenticity, psychedelics, set and setting, wisdom, the shadow, the integration of rationality and mystical experience, the culture war, masculinity and femininity, psychedelic therapy and related issues of self actualisation / self transcendence / addiction / trauma / responsibility, philosophy, more. We will narrow these down to your particular interest.
If you can select accompanying clips from other creators such as Rebel Wisdom, Jordan Peterson, John Vervaeke, Sam Harris, Joe Rogan, Russell Brand, and many others, and also take autonomy in selecting whatever else might support audio narration, with full license to tastefully include your own animations, then I will find that exciting.
Headline writing that drives engagement without contributing to the continued race to the bottom of our attention is also of interest. There is art in treading that line.
Assist in the generation of marketing material for membership building, event promotion, and episode marketing.
Reliability and consistent communication style as we work together is crucial. Having the available agency to respond to messages / emails within a reasonable time period is critical. I am far from a hands on, demanding person, and I have no interest in working together if it’s not a rewarding experience for both of us. But unreliable communication will not work.
Further things of interest (you don’t have to tick all these boxes, and if video isn’t your thing but you’ve read this anyway and are interested, here are some other skill sets I’m interested in):
Experience / event design / event marketing
Front of house personality and event stewardship
Could involve simply hospitable guest welcoming
Could involve tech / equipment management
Could involve guest research / venue research
Design capabilities for pitch decks, websites, social media content
How to apply:
Communicate why this interests you and to what extent you can, or can learn, to achieve some combination of requirements listed above. You can contact me @ contact(at)voiceclub.com
Only spend time on this to the degree that formulating your thoughts on why you’re interested in this opportunity is a valuable endeavour in itself.
Unless your resume is a thing of unbridled creative excellence I am not interested in isolated resumes.
Portfolios obviously help significantly when it comes to video production.
Who am I?
My name is Tim Adalin. I’m a philosopher, entrepreneur and psychonaut.
